Duties and Obligations

The duties and obligations of the members of the Confraternity of Jesus belong properly to the life of every priest.  Every priest is called to be an intercessor between God and man, in imitation to the One and Only High Priest, Jesus Christ.

Priest oblates unite themselves with their brothers daily in offering the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, in Eucharistic adoration, in the faithful praying of the Liturgy of the Hours and the recitation of the Holy Rosary and other Marian devotions.

For the priest who is not able to celebrate the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass or spend a Eucharistic Holy Hour on any given day because of an illness or travel, he may still spend a holy hour in his bed or in whatever means of transportation he is using, by remaining in the Lord’s presence in silence, in meditation Holy Scriptures and by spiritually uniting himself with all the brothers who are able to do so.

For every high priest taken from among men is appointed on behalf of men in things pertaining to God, in order to offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins.
— Hebrews 5:1
